Welcome to

NUMABULLA MEN'S SHED

We are located in Brooloo on the Cooloola Coast Hinterland. This is a rural area with no public transport and with high levels of unemployment or under employment and with documented mental illness problems. Men’s Sheds have shown themselves to be socially constructive in this context and are supported by all levels of government.

Our shed was secondhand and erected on this Council-owned site by the Brooloo Hall Committee in 2010, following demolition of the Hall. It did not meet Council requirements as a hall and remained unused. In 2017 the Hall Committee suggested Council lease it to a new Men's Shed group currently formed in the area.

The Shed group chose Numabulla as its name. This is the Gubbi Gubbi name for the adjacent Mary River and suggests the catchment area for our Shed corresponds with that of the River.
