Activities we offer

Our priority is redeveloping the existing shed to provide better facilities and landscaping the surrounding land to give us, and the local community, a garden area for relaxation and for horticultural activities.

Some of our activities may be outside the shed or in other local venues and please note that, at this stage, some of those listed below are only in the planning stage - please let us know what your interests are.

Wood and Metal Work

We are well equipped for a wide range of metalwork and woodwork activities. Donations of sawn timber and metal stock are always appreciated.

Craft Activities

You can bring your own tools and materials to engage in any craft and we intend to have pottery and lead lighting equipment available for general use.

Training Courses

We currently have a training programme aimed at learning about alternative PC operating systems and using free software to drive 3D printers. For those wishing to use power tools or equipment appropriate training will be provided.

IT Access & Support

We have computers, scanners and printers (including 3D printers) available, with internet access planned, and we will be able to help you with whatever you need to do.

Library

It is intended to develop a library of reading and reference publications - books and magazines. Any donations will be gratefully received.

Social Events

We participate in local shows and events. Social activities are arranged for members and families.

Gardening

There is ample space around the shed, with raised beds, to allow the development of garden plantings and vegetable plots.

Cookery

Many men, especially those living alone, would be healthier and happier with some more imaginative cookery skills (currently in planning stage only).

Knitting / Weaving

Knitting, weaving, dyeing and other fibre based activities can be productive hobbies as well as being mentally stimulating (currently in planning).
